Overview
The bit goes down the pile shaft closed, at body diameter D. Once it reaches the toe, its two toothed wings swing out to cut the bell to the reamed diameter D1, then fold back so the bit can be lifted out. The drawing shows the bit closed (height H1) and opened (height H2).
Across the range the bell is roughly twice the shaft size: KD600 runs in a 560 mm body and reams to 1200 mm, while KD2000 runs at 1960 mm and reams to 4000 mm.
