Overview
Cutting only a ring rather than the full face reduces the rock volume to be broken. Once the groove is deep enough, the core is snapped off and removed with the barrel or a follow-up tool.
Bullet teeth (picks) sit in holders on the barrel rim and can be replaced individually as they wear.
